About the Role:We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our Finance team at Lutheran Homes Group (LHG). This role is essential in supporting accurate and timely financial operations across our organisation. You will be responsible for managing debtor processes, reconciling high-volume accounts, overseeing bank and credit card reconciliations, and preparing financial journals and reports. Your work will directly contribute to the financial health and transparency of LHG, supporting our commitment to providing high-quality care to residents. The position requires a strong understanding of bookkeeping practices, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving financial requirements across all LHG sites. Key responsibilities include: - Manage invoicing, receipting, allocations, and debtor follow-ups.
- Complete reconciliations and post journals, credits, and adjustments.
- Prepare cash flow statements and assist with month-end reporting.
- Support finance functions across LHG sites, including cashier backup.
- Maintain compliance and help improve financial processes.
About You:To be successful in this role, you will bring at least one year of experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role, preferably within an aged care, health, or not-for-profit environment. You’ll have proven experience with debtor management, journal preparation, and reconciliation processes, along with proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel. A strong eye for detail, sound understanding of accounting principles, and commitment to confidentiality are key to your success. You’ll be confident working independently and collaboratively across teams, and capable of managing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy. Excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to follow financial processes are essential. All candidates are required to have a current Police Clearance.
