We are seeking a highly experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in a key leadership role reporting to the Financial Controller. This position is responsible for leading end-to-end payroll operations across a complex, multi-site workforce and driving systems optimisation to improve efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.

 

About the Role

As the system owner for the payroll module in TechnologyOne, you will play a central role in payroll system enhancement, workflow integration across Finance, and broader digital transformation initiatives. You will lead a dedicated team and promote a high-performance culture focused on accuracy, continuous improvement, and strong stakeholder support.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end payroll operations across multiple sites in South Australia and Victoria
  • Ensure payroll services are delivered accurately, on time, and in line with legislative, industrial, and internal requirements
  • Support payroll integration activities associated with mergers and acquisitions
  • Act as system owner for the TechnologyOne payroll module, including updates, testing, configuration, and enhancements
  • Improve payroll workflows to support automation, efficiency, and better integration across the employee lifecycle
  • Partner with People Services and operational leaders to improve employee access to payroll information and self-service tools
  • Oversee statutory payroll reporting and monitor legislative changes to maintain ongoing compliance
  • Work closely with Finance and external auditors to support accurate payroll-related reporting and reconciliation

About You 

  • Extensive payroll management experience in a complex, multi-site and multi-state environment, ideally in aged care or healthcare
  • Experience integrating acquired entities into existing payroll systems and processes
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles relevant to payroll control, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Aged Care Act, relevant modern awards, and enterprise agreements
  • Proven leadership capability, with the ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and respond effectively to competing demands
  • Experience reviewing and improving payroll processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • High levels of discretion and a strong understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements
  • Strong payroll systems capability, including system configuration, process mapping, and support for upgrades, ideally within TechnologyOne
  • Familiarity with rostering systems such as Humanforce and the integration of HR and finance systems
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across the organisation

Candidates may be subject to a pre-employment medical assessment with the successful candidate requiring current NDIS worker clearance. In accordance with current health guidelines for the aged care sector, candidates are encouraged to have all recommended vaccinations.
